Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a manual therapy based on the philosophy that how the body moves affects how it functions. Looking at the body as a whole, the osteopath looks for strain, weakness, stiffness or imbalance. Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscle tension, enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues and help your body's own healing mechanism.
Cranial Osteopathy
Cranial Osteopathy is a subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses very gentle manipulative pressure to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body. It is extremely effective in treating a wide range of conditions in people of all ages, from birth to old age.
Medical Acupuncture
Medical Acupuncture is a complementary medicine where fine needles are inserted in the skin at specific points. This stimulates sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles, resulting in the release of natural painkillers called endorphins. These modify the way pain signals are received by the brain and so reduce the perception of pain.
Conditions regularly treated include:
● Back pain ● Neck pain ● Joint aches and pains ● Muscle spasm ● Repetitive strain injuries ● Tension headaches ● Neuralgia ● Sciatica ● Sports injuries ● Shoulder, elbow and wrist problems ● Hip, knee ankle and foot ● Arthritic pain ● Rheumatic pain ●
